Iowa River Friends: Annual Meeting Announcement
Meeting will include a keynote address from Ty Smedes, author of Return of Iowa’s Eagles, and the first annual State of the River Report from Dr. Mary Skopec
IOWA CITY – The Annual Meeting of Iowa River Friends will be held on Saturday March 21st, from 9:30 am to noon at the ISU Extension auditorium at the Johnson County Fairgrounds (3109 Old Highway 218 South, Iowa City). The public is invited and there is no charge.
The meeting will begin with a keynote address from Ty Smedes, a celebrated photographer and author of The Return of Iowa’s Bald Eagles. He will present a slideshow and will also be available for a book signing following the meeting. Next, Dr. Mary Skopec, IOWATER & Stream Monitoring Coordinator with the Department of Natural Resources, will present the State of the Iowa River report. A short business meeting to elect Iowa River Friends Board members will conclude the morning’s activities.
