The Lower Iowa & Cedar Valleys Conservation Alliance is a newly formed group of agencies and organizations dedicated to caring for the land and water of the region. Their area of interest spans the Iowa and Cedar river corridors through the southern portions of Johnson and Cedar County, a small area of Washington County, and down through Muscatine and Louisa Counties to the outlet at the Mississippi River.
This region also includes a portion of Iowa’s Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Area, where many different species of frogs, turtles, salamanders, and snakes can be found.
They’ve put out the first of their quarterly newsletters, ‘Voice of the Valleys,’ which you can access here: LICVCA Quarterly Newsletter
