Project AWARE wrapped up a successful week of hauling trash out of the Iowa earlier this month. 387 volunteers paddled a total of 85 river miles, pulling out just over 60 tons of waste from the Iowa River – including 29 tons of tires. Read more about Project Aware on the Iowa River here.
For those who didn’t get a chance to participate in the fun, another opportunity to clean up the Iowa River by canoe will be held on October 6th. This clean-up will cover from the Sturgis Ferry Access in Iowa City down to Hills Access. To learn more about this event, visit http://www.iarvcp.org/.
